Day 7 at the beach

Today we went to the beach for snorkeling and look for dolphins,  We went on a short boat trip to our snorkeling site then we took a longer boat ride to find the dolphins.

Looking at the trip we will take
Hey guys look the ocean is over there!

Our guide was showing the kids how to open a coconut

Getting ready to walk out to the boat

When we got out to the whale tale point we got into the water and snorkeled for about an hour.

We then went out to look for the dolphins

We took the boat around the rest of the marine national park to look around.

caves that were made by waves

We cleaned up in this little shower area and yes that is a beware of crocodiles ..... we didn't see any

After the beach time we had lunch at a local restaurant.  The food was great the shade was better as most of the kids got a little too much sun out on the water.  The follow up game was who got burned the most.   After lunch we worked with a group called Geoporter that tracks the location and type of trash in the streets with GPS to compile data for communities to design action plans,

Ramon called the kids over to the bus because he saw a rainbow macaw

Talking with Geoporter group

We broke into two teams and started to collect samples (also know as trash)

Kids had to pace off distance for sample size and then collect information.

We then sorted the trash into categories to be recorded.
